For months, onboarding merchants to Ghala meant jumping on a Google Meet.
We’d walk them step by step through the maze of Meta Business Manager:
Navigating the developer portal, creating a developer account, setting up an app, verifying a business, linking a number… all using their personal accounts.
It worked.
But it wasn’t smooth, it wasn’t scalable, and honestly it wasn’t the kind of experience that makes informal traders feel empowered.
It felt like teaching someone how to code just so they could sell onions on WhatsApp.
Now Everything Changes
We’re proud to share that Ghala is now an official WhatsApp Business Solution Provider.
That means we’re no longer just building on WhatsApp we’re building with WhatsApp.
👉 Merchants will soon be able to onboard using their WhatsApp Business App, keeping the same number they already use to talk to customers.
👉 Still requires a Facebook account, but no need to navigate dashboards or create apps. No Meta dashboards. No hand-holding through video calls.

This new embedded signup flow is going live soon and we couldn’t be more hopeful. It’s a small but meaningful step toward removing technical barriers and giving merchants the tools they need, on the platform they already trust. We know there's still more to learn and improve but we’re building carefully, and with purpose, to make onboarding feel less like a tech tutorial and more like an invitation to grow.
